ASTD Hawaii Chapter Leadership
Therese Dickerson is Senior Vice President and Manager of the Leadership and Employee Development at Bank of Hawaii, and is responsible for the development of the Learning and Development strategy, manages the Leadership Review process and consults to senior leaders on their specific development needs. Therese also manages corporate-wide projects, designs and develops courses, and conducts training and performance improvement needs analyses. She was also the first ASTD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) in the State of Hawaii.
Dina Tsuda is a Training and HR Consultant at Business Solution Technologies (BST), a local consulting firm that specializes in HR, Education and Healthcare solutions for Hawaii businesses. Prior to joining BST, Dina worked for the Kaiser Permanente Learning & Development department, as the Regional LMS administrator and at Title Guaranty of Hawaii, as an HR Supervisor. Dina has served on the ASTD Hawaii Board for the past four years, serving in the positions of V.P. of Records, V.P. of Technology, and President Elect.
VP of Marketing and Communications
Shirley Tsukano is a Coordinator/Instructor for Kapiolani Community College’s Continuing Education and Community Relations Unit and works directly with the Business, Culinary Arts, Legal and Hospitality education departments. Shirley is responsible for working with various companies and organizations to assess training needs and collaborate on effective and affordable solutions to meet these needs..
VP of Technology
Claire Pangilinan is a Senior Instructional Designer at Kamehameha Schools. Her focus is on eLearning Instructional Design. She has worked for Bank of Hawaii, Toyota Financial Services, PeopleSoft and Lucas Learning.
Her passion for education and technology led her to work as an elearning curriculum developer, instructional designer, content developer, technical writer, information designer, facilitator and project manager. She has served in the Events Committee for ASTD Hawaii.
VP of Records
Christy Valledor is the Senior Performance & Learning Specialist at HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union. Some of her responsibilities include: eLearning instructional design and development, service, sales & leadership facilitation, and managing the LMS. Prior to joining HawaiiUSA, Christy worked for the Sullivan Family of Companies as a Corporate Trainer and for Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas as the Casino Marketing Supervisor.
Christy also serves on the ASTD Community Service Committee and the Financial Education Alliance of Hawaii (FEAH) Board.
VP of Events/ Professional Development
Laura Witter is the Training Manager for Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa and is responsible to facilitate and ensure compliance of hotel and corporate key training programs. Strategize with Hotels operation’s teams to identify training needs and resources to support and achieve service results, performance initiatives, employee engagement goals, and strategic objectives. Certify and support hotel departmental trainers to include skill development. Launch and support national training initiatives.
Tiffany S. Chang
VP of Finance
Tiffany is a Corporate Trainer in the Leadership and Employee Development Department at Bank of Hawaii. She runs part of the core curriculum, such as New Hire Orientation and Computer Training Classes. Prior to joining the team at Bankoh, she was a Certified Consumer Credit Counselor where she helped families with their financial problems. This year, she is volunteering as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance preparer, where she will assist individuals in filling out and filing their tax forms. With her bachelors degree in Psychology, and a passion for helping others develop, she brings a diverse perspective to ASTD board.
VP of Membership
Debbie began her journey into the organizational development field nearly 20 years ago. My passion is leadership development and my industry expertise is in health care. She is a Training Manager at The Queen's Health Systems responsible for supporting the learning and development needs for a team of 5,000. I have a special interest in Equine Guided Education, using horses in leadership and team development work.
